The black I pay $15 for (all Canadian funny money my sirs). The ink is expensive but I get mine (Epson brand) for about $15 for all 3 colours.

The picture quality isn't as good as I would wish (metallic shine on glossy paper) but on matte it's not too shabby. My c80 has been going strong for about a year and no complaints. My next purchase, printer wise, will be a laser, not an amazingly high-res one, just one that can produce good photos, and besides, the toner goes much further with them, I will only go for another inkjet if the price for consumables is right. The only trouble with my BJC is photos don't come out as well with it, as on my 460, but the cartridges are much cheaper, and they're not bad quality either, they're actually by Canon, the people that made the printer. I wouldn't pay much more than that for a printer cartridge, maybe £10 maximum. I now use a BJC-4100, really old printer, came with my really old P120, yet it still works after so long, and I have found somewhere I can get cartridges for it for £5-£6 which is really good. My Epson Stylus Color 460 kicked the bucket ages ago (the particular model I had didn't last long, the build quality was completely crap, maybe I was just unlucky).

Everything inkjet is pretty much a 'scam' you buy a £150 inkjet printer (I will use Epson as the case here) after about 6 new cartridges, (if we say they are £25 each) you've paid for the printer itself, and if you paid £200, you've paid for it after 8 cartridges, but there are places you can get cartridges for £18 maybe £15.
